Tunisia: 120 post offices to have Fiber Optic Internet connection before end 2015

Nearly 120 post offices will have Fiber Optic Internet connection before the end of 2015, Moez Chakchouk, CEO of the Tunisian Post said Saturday in Hammamet.

In a statement to TAP, on the sidelines of the celebration of World Post Day, he said that 50% of post offices will be equipped with automated teller machines (ATMs), against 15% now.

Efforts will also focus on increasing the number of postal-office counters; the objective is to have a counter for 3,000 citizens and move from one post office for every 10,000 citizens to 1 office for 7000 citizens, the CEO of the post further noted.

Regarding e-commerce, the official said the development of the use of rapid-mail and exchange of goods reflects the importance of e-commerce.

“The Tunisian post has all the skills and experience needed in the area of ​​electronic commerce and also in logistics to meet the needs of the Tunisian market in this area,” he further said.
