Tunisia 33rd in GEM report

Tunisia was ranked 33rd out of 60 countries in the 17th report of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM).

The report of the world’s largest and most developed research program on entrepreneurship was released Friday in Boston, USA.

Tunisia’s Total early-stage Entrepreneurial Activity (TEA) stands at 10.1%, the Arab Institute of Business Leaders (IACE) Saturday said in a press release.

TEA is the prevalence rate of individuals in the working age population who are actively involved in business start-ups, either in the phase of starting a new firm (nascent entrepreneurship) or in the phase spanning 42 months after the birth of the firm.

IACE, a member organization of GEM, will release soon the national report that outlines results and recommendations, reads the press release.

GEM began in 1999; it is conducted by Babson College (USA) and the London Business School (UK).
