Tunisia: PM promises 3,200 new jobs in digital, 542 MTD for the poor and disabled

At the Government’s statement he made before the House of People’s Representatives (HPR) where the draft state budget for the year 2016 is being discussed, Prime Minister Habib Essid made promises for job creation.

Regarding the digital sector, the PM said 3,200 job positions for young graduates will be created in the area of transfer of services outside countries of origin in 2016 in a first tranche of a total of 50,000 job positions to be created in this sector over the next five years.

He also promised to increase to 2% the number of disabled people recruited in the public and the private sector and a budget of over 542 million dinars was allocated for assistance to low-income people and disabled.

On Tunisians abroad, the prime minister recalled that the bill on the establishment of a national board of Tunisians abroad was presented to the HPR, adding that a new government’s strategy to promote legal migration and fight against illegal migration is being developed.
