A delegation from the National Chamber of Private Clinics, led by its president, Khaled Nabli, was received last Thursday by Foreign Minister Khemais Jhinaoui over debts owed to Libyan patients.
The President of the Chamber urged the minister to intervene with the Libyan authorities to obtain the repayment of the debt “which overwhelms the financial situation of 55 clinics”; that problem has remained unresolved since 2013, said a statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The minister said he was very understanding, adding that his department is committed to following up on this issue and making the necessary contacts with the Libyan side to reach a solution, the statement indicated.
The debt of Libyan patients in private clinics in Tunisia amounted to 190 million dinars in March 2016, Ridha Aoukli, then Minister of Health in the internationally recognised Libyan government had told TAP at that time.
