Tunisair passenger traffic has increased by 9% between 2015 and 2016, the national carrier said on Monday.
All activities included, this traffic went up from 2.743,653 to 2.989,552 passengers.
Regular traffic grew by 10.1% from 2,558,018 to 2,817, 016 passengers. The remaining traffic, which includes the additional one, charter and pilgrimage, fell by 7% from 185,653 to 172,536 passengers.
The average passenger load factor also improved from 68.1% in 2015 to 70.4% in 2016, i.e. a gain of 2.3 points.
In terms of regular traffic, European countries, with a traffic share of 74.6%, posted a 7% increase. African countries, with a traffic share of 14.3%, grew 22.8%.
Countries in the Middle East, with 10.4% of traffic, registered an improvement of 10.4%. North America (Montreal) recorded a traffic of 19,746 passengers since June 18, 2016 when its operations began.
