The National Agency for Employment and Self-Employment (ANETI) launched, on Thursday October 13, mobile application, “DJT” and a website dedicated to job search techniques.
The launch took place at a seminar organized in Gammarth, in the presence of the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, representative of the International Labor Office (ILO), Michel Grégoire, head of the ANETI Mustapha Waddar and other representatives of several institutions.
This application is part of the project “PEJTUN” aimed at bringing about to a visible change in the context of the labor market in Tunisia, particularly among young people by offering more opportunities for decent work, improving employability and strengthening employment services by adopting a national strategy.
This project was established in 2014 by the ILO with the financial support of the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) and has adopted a model of tripartite governance through the installation a national steering committee.
An answer to the thorny problem of unemployment
On this occasion, the Minister stressed that this action is part of a dynamic progress aimed at digitizing employment through the creation of a reference point for job seekers throughout their course.
“This is an answer to the thorny problem of unemployment,” assured the minister, saying that this is an appropriate solution to the poor match between university education and the real needs of the market.
This is important since there are no less than 145,000 job vacancies nationwide and that obviously do not find qualified candidates, the minister pointed out, adding that this innovative technology will allow job seekers to refine their search techniques through exercises that allow it to take stock of their skills, to optimize the success of the job interview and expand their social network while putting up the professional profile.

For the ILO, Tunisia’s entry in the digital age via among others the modernization of services of ANETI is a strategic asset and a potentially effective response to the magnitude of the crisis of unemployment, which current rate reached 15.6% in the second half of the year. Unemployment of young higher education graduates is estimated at 19.4% for men and 40.4% for women.
This is why the creation of quality jobs requires additional coordinated measures through a series of macroeconomic policies and investment, but also a strong cooperation between
the ILO and the Government of Tunisia in the field of innovative digital so as to contribute to the success of the remote support for young job seekers.
In this context, the organization, through its Director for the Maghreb region, Mohamed Ali Deyahi, reiterated his commitment to support Tunisia in improving these youth employment promotion policies, particularly in the 14 priority governorates, through the design of new digital tools for professional coaching of young job seekers.
“The two new applications, which emanate from our cooperation, meet the will of ANETI to create innovative tools adapted to the particularities of the labor market and aspirations of the civil society,” the official said, noting that he there are no miracle solutions that meet all situations, but much remains to be done to minimize the obstacles.
