A project for the construction of a wind power plant with a capacity of 230MW will be carried out in the locality of Lahouach, delegation of Thala (governorate of Kasserine) in 2017.
A French specialized company will be in charge of the project, costing 84.89 million dinars, in coordination with the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG) and the relevant ministries.
The technical studies and the procedures for changing the vocation of the land on which the project will be erected are being developed.
“The site chosen in Thala is known for its strong winds”, said the delegate, Jaouher Chaâbani, adding that it will contribute to more employability in the region.
