The structural reforms initiated by the new auth orities in Mauritania have helped to achieve economic progress in that country, t he International Monetary Fund (IMF) said in a statement issued here.
The statement followed a visit to Mauritania by some IMF experts.
During their visit, the IMF experts met several government officials and reviewe d a three-year economic programme aimed at poverty reduction and economic growth .
“The reform programme is being carried out correctly,” Dominique Guillaume, the head of the IMF mission, said.
