The test run of the natural gas power station located we st of Libyan capital, Tripoli, began Tuesday, according to the Libyan Oil Company (NOC).
After the connection of the last gas pipeline to the Khomes gasoline project, th e natural gas is being piped to the power station, NOC said in a statement on its website.
The 125.9km-long Khomes-Tripoli gas pipeline project will supply gas to the powe r stations in the south and west of Tripoli.
The project aims to meet the electricity needs of the southern part of Tripoli b y supplying 106 million m3 of natural gas per day.
