Already at the early booking stage Tunisia shows a rapid increase in sales compared with last year. This was a signal for some players to expand their flight charter programs to this country, said Russian Travel Digest.
According to tour operators, the demand for tours to Tunisia for the season-2019 has increased significantly: participants report that sales growth from 30% to several times.
Among the important factors that determine such dynamics, experts call the search of alternatives to Turkey, which have already risen in price at least by 10-15% at the stage of early booking. In turn, hoteliers of Tunisia are not in a hurry to raise prices.
According to ANEX Tour, the demand for the destination has increased almost three times in January, Biblio-Globus operator has an increase of 193.98% and Coral Travel tour operator – 50%.
According to the observation of the head of the department of Intourist tour operator, this year early booking of Tunisia is going more dynamically than in the past.
“Traditionally for this destination, the peak period of early booking is the end of May – the beginning of June, when the majority resorts of the Mediterranean is not warm enough for a beach holiday, while in Tunisia it is already warm during this period,” he says.
The situation with price dynamics in Tunisia now looks very different than in Turkey
“Accommodation prices have not increased in Tunisia either on the mainland or on Djerba. The only thing that can now affect the cost of a tour package in this area is the exchange rate,” explains Marina Makarkova, the head of public relations department at Coral Travel, noting that there is no trend to reduce the length of rest at resorts in Tunisia.
The experts from ANEX Tour and Biblio-Globus give the same estimate of the current prices for early bookings in Tunisian hotels.
According to these companies, the resorts of Hammamet, Sousse, Nabel, Monastir and Djerba are popular among Russian tourists. Russian travelers are actively booking hotels 4 and 5* on All Inclusive basis.
ANEX Tour notes that the average duration of early booking tours is 7-10 nights, Biblio-Globus – 10-14 nights.
