Tunisia: 45 thousand barrels of oil a day and a loss of 980 MD!

Tunisia’s oil production in 2017 has not surpassed that of 2016. This production does not currently exceed 45 thousand barrels per day, Tunisian Energy Minister Khaled Kaddour told the parliamentary Industry and Energy Committee on Thursday.

Minister Kaddour also reported two new prospecting licenses in Nefzaoua and Douiret and the entry into production of a new well in Kebili with a production capacity of 1,500 barrels per day.

The Minister of Energy also spoke about the cost of stopping oil production in Tunisia, because of social protests that have caused a loss of 980 MD to the state in the year 2017.

Kaddour also said that the Tunisian state receives 75 to 80% of oil revenues, while oil companies receive less than 15%.
