The Mövenpick hotel chain will expand in Tunisia with a presence in the coastal city of Sfax.
The Swiss chain has signed an agreement with the Southern Tourism Company to manage the Plaza Sfax & Spa hotel, an upscale property located in Khalid Ibn Walid Street, near the historic Medina, a few steps from the Sfax International Fair and only 10 km from Sfax-Thyna airport.
When the hotel will be inaugurated as Mövenpick Hotel Sfax later this year, it will be the fourth property of the Swiss hotel chain in Tunisia.
The 89-room, nine-storey hotel is characterized by contemporary architecture and a modern interior design concept inspired by nature, with open spaces and harmonious neutral colors creating a relaxing ambience.
Facilities include a thalassotherapy center, swimming pool and gym, a ballroom and six meeting rooms, while three upscale restaurants will be open all day, a rooftop restaurant with panoramic views of the city and coastline and lounge lobby.
Mövenpick already operates the Mövenpick Hotel at Tunis Lake, which opened earlier this year, as well as Mövenpick Resort and Marine Spa Sousse and Mövenpick Hotel Gammarth Tunis.
