Tunisia: 800,000 families indebted to the hilt to banks!

Director General of the National Consumer Institute (INC), Tarek Ben Jazia, announced on Mosaïque FM that the amount of loans granted by Tunisian banks to Tunisian families is estimated at 20,800 MD.

This figure doubled from 2010, when the amount of credits did not exceed 10,000 MD.

According to the Director General of INC, the cost of loans dedicated to households is rising about 17% each year.

Ben Jazia issued a warning regarding the increasing percentage of unpaid credits or subject to litigation which amounts to 19%, i.e. about 854 MD, while it did not exceed 586 MD in December 2014.
