Tunisia: agriculture and fishing sector edges up 11.9%

The value added of the agriculture and fisheries sector registered a significant increase of 11.9% in the first quarter of 2018.

This performance of the agricultural sector in 2018 is mainly related to an exceptional increase in olive production.

These are the figures released by the Ministry of Development, Investment and International Cooperation.

During this same period, the market services sector grew by 3.3% compared to the same period in 2017.

This increase is explained by the dynamism of all sectors, such as the hotel services sector and the financial services sector and the transportation services sector, which rose by 9.2%, 6.4% and 3%, sequentially.

On the other hand, a 0.2% growth in the non-market services sector was recorded during the first quarter of this year.
