Tunisia-Airports: number of travelers edges up 13%

The movement of travelers at Tunisian airports, under the supervision of the Office of Civil Aviation and Airports (OACA), went up by 13% in the first five months of 2018, compared with the same period of 2017, to about three million passengers, according to data published by the OACA on its “Facebook” page.

The movement of aircraft increased by 12% over the same period, while the number of aircraft that passed through Tunisian airports have reached 21 thousand aircraft.

Regarding the performance of the Tunis Carthage International Airport, the number of passengers was up 8.1% (1,401 million passengers), while the number of aircraft rose by 3.1% (21,571 aircraft).

Djerba-Zarzis Airport posted a significant increase of 47.5% in terms of the number of passengers (about 205 thousand passengers) and a 30% improvement in the number of aircraft, i.e. 4,474 aircraft.

On the other hand, the number of aircraft dropped by 8.9% at Sfax airport, while the number of passengers increased slightly by 1%, at around 62,000 passengers.

The Tozeur-Nefta airport recorded a decrease of 6.4% in the number of aircraft, but in return the number of passengers increased by 15.7%.
