Tunisia and Bulgaria, cheapest destinations for British tourists

British holidaymakers spending habits have been revealed in a study across holiday destinations all over the world.

While longer holidays are thought to cost you more it was revealed that in Malta and Cyprus a long holiday will actually cost more it was revealed that in Malta and Cyprus a long holiday will actually cost you less, according to research carried out by the UK Office Of National Statistics.

To spend up to 3 days on the island (Malta) would set you back £708 on average while a longer break costs £517 for up to two weeks.

This is the same for fellow Mediterranean isle Cyprus where it costs British holidaymakers less to stay for longer.

Another survey carried out by Gems Holiday found that 51% of holidaymakers going on holiday this year have booked a city break.

More people are heading to the cities rather than the beach, and this means the price of the holidays will rise as people spend more on city breaks.

The survey also did a comparison among popular holiday destinations and how much people spend there.

The most budget-friendly destinations were found to be Bulgaria and Tunisia while UAE stands as the most expensive place to go on holiday.
