Tunisia: business leaders fear persistence of COVID-19’s impact over next 6 months (IACE)

Business leaders are still not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and fear that the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on their activities will persist over the next 6 or even 12 months, according to a study on “The impact of covid-19 on Tunisian companies” recently published by IACE.

According to this study, most of the business leaders interviewed (78%), estimate that the spread of the virus in Tunisia will last between 3 and 6 months.

However, 96.7% of the business leaders surveyed fear a greater negative impact of the epidemic on their activities in the next six months and 88.8% of them believe that the negative impact of the epidemic on their activities will persist over the next twelve months.

Business managers’ perceptions of the impact of the covid-19 crisis in the coming months are fuelled by the current difficulties they are facing, as more than half (66.67%) of companies are experiencing financial difficulties, 80.12% are facing major supply chain disruptions and 44.23% have experienced export order cancellations.
