Tunisia buys 67,000 tons of grain

Tunisia’s state grains agency (ONC) purchased around 67,000 tons of soft milling wheat in an international tender which closed on Wednesday, European traders said.

The grains can be sourced from optional origins are to be supplied in two 25,000-ton consignments and one 17,000-ton consignment.

Since, the ONC never communicates on its purchasing policy, one wonders the reason for this significant purchase, at a time when everyone in Tunisia is talking about an exceptional grain harvest.

Shipment was sought between Aug. 5 and Aug. 25, depending on the origin supplied.
