Tunisia: Carthage Cement increases revenues by 25% in Q1

Despite the cessation of the cement business triggered on March 15, 2018 following the social incident between the subcontracting company NLS and some workers and which continued until April 15, 2018, Carthage Cement Company posted a 25% increase in sales in the first quarter of the year compared to last year.

Thus, the total revenues at the end of March amounted to 57.8 million dinars against 46.3 million a year earlier.

Nevertheless, the export of cement fell by 100% while the export of Clinker reached 16.2 million dinars, up 100%.

Cement turnover on the local market reached 30.4 million dinars against 33.9 million in 2017, a decrease of 10% due to the cessation of sales during the last two weeks of March.

As for overall indebtedness as of March 31, 2018, it amounted to 535.1 million dinars against 525.3 million as of December 31, 2017, i.e. up 1.8%.
