As part of the search for new markets and the need to diversify Tunisia’s economic partners and develop its exports, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Center (CCIC), the Export Promotion Center (CEPEX) and the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA) are organizing, in partnership with the Embassy of Tunisia in Ethiopia, the Chamber of Commerce of Ethiopia and the Chamber of Commerce of Addis Ababa a Multi-sector Business Mission in Ethiopia from October 7 to 14, 2018.
The mission will be an opportunity for Tunisian businessmen to develop their business activities and their partnership projects with their Ethiopian counterparts on the one hand and to seize the opportunities offered by the African continent and more specifically on East Africa which is currently experiencing an economic boom.
The Tunisian delegation, headed by Mr. Hichem BEN AHMED, Secretary of State for Foreign Trade, brings together about forty Tunisian companies operating in the following sectors: Food industry, chemical, metal industry, telecom, construction, packaging, products Hygiene, International Trade …
The program of the mission includes:
– A Tunisian-Ethiopian Business Forum organized in collaboration with the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce Tunisian-Ethiopian Professional Meetings organized in collaboration with the Addis-Ababa Chamber of Commerce
– Visits to Ethiopian companies and industrial sites in Addis Ababa
– Visit and participation in the exhibitions held in Addis Ababa:
Addis Agrofood & Pack: Exhibition of agriculture, agricultural machinery, food, food technology and packaging
Addisbuild: International Exhibition of Building, Construction and Technologies
– Meetings with senior officials in Ethiopia
On the sidelines of this mission and in order to seal the privileged ties that bind the Tunisian institutions and their Ethiopian counterparts, two cooperation agreements will be signed between the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts as well as between the Chamber of Commerce of Addis Ababa and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Center.
It should be noted that a pre-prospection mission to Ethiopia was organized from September 16 to 22, 2018 in which the representatives of CEPEX, UTICA and CCIC participated in order to prepare the work program of the Tunisian delegation for prospecting mission scheduled for October 2018.
It is important to note that this mission is part of the project of support for Tunisian companies wishing to develop their exports in the COMESA zone and more specifically on the Ethiopian market with the support of TAYP
