Tunisia: CEPEX, UTICA and CCIC set sail to Ethiopia

A multi-sector economic mission will be organized in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia, from October 7 to 14, 2018, by the Export Promotion Center (CEPEX), the Tunisian Union of Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Center of Tunisia (CCIC), CEPEX reported.

The program of this mission will include an economic forum, targeted institutional meetings and networking, prospecting visits to 2 exhibitions specializing in agribusiness and building materials as well as professional B to B meetings with Ethiopian economic operators, the same source said in a statement.

Ethiopia has experienced rapid economic growth over the past decade, with an average rate of about 10% per year, according to new IMF data.

The 2018 forecast is for growth to continue its upward trend.

In 2018, the Ethiopian economy is expected to grow by 8.5%. The numbers show continued economic development.

To boost its economy, the country is pursuing large-scale infrastructure projects, including a rail network and a large dam. Experts say manufacturing is a key element of the country’s economic development, according to the CEPEX.
