Tunisia: Condor sets up new plant in Beja, operational in 2019

Abderrahmane Benhamadi, Chairman of the Condor Group’s board of directors plans to set up a TVs manufacturing plant in Tunisia.

Its capacity is 300,000 units per year for an investment of € 5 million which will be financed largely by Tunisian banks.

“We made the request and obtained the agreement in principle for a plot of 15 hectares in Beja. We will continue the administrative procedures to obtain all the necessary authorizations to realize this factory. That is to say submit an investment file to obtain the various tax and parafiscal benefits that Tunisia offers to investors,” Benhamadi said in an interview with Tsa-Algeria.

This new plant will be operational in 2019. “We aim at exporting mainly to African countries. 70% of our production in Tunisia will be destined for export. The rest for the local market, “he added.
