Tunisia: cumulative tourism revenues soar by 32% as of February 20

Cumulative tourism receipts have increased by nearly 32%, as at February 20, 2020, to more than 637 million dinars (MD), against 483 MD, on the same date of the previous year.

According to data published by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) on Tuesday, the cumulative labor income has, in turn, risen by 13.7%, to 687 MD.

The service of the cumulative external debt fell by nearly 31%, on the same date, reaching 1 billion dinars, against 1.5 billion dinars in February 2019.

The BCT also reported that the overall volume of refinancing fell by 39% to 9.9 billion dinars by 24 February, while total interbank transactions increased by 48.5% to 1.3 billion dinars by the same date.

As for banknotes and coins in circulation, they represent a total amount of 13.6 billion dinars on February 24, 2020, against 12.3 billion dinars in February 2019.

Net foreign currency reserves amounted to 19.5 billion dinars on the same date, equivalent to 112 days of imports, compared to 14.4 billion dinars the previous year (85 days of imports).
