Tunisia – foreign trade: still big deficit with Turkey, Africa gaining volume

Tunisia’s exports to the European Union, accounting for 73.4% of total exports, have increased by 17.6%.

This rise is explained by the increase in Tunisia’s exports to some European partners, such as Spain by 57.5%, Germany by 23.2% and France by 14.2%.

On the other hand, Tunisia’s sales are down to other European countries including Sweden with 34.9% and Malta with 17.2% and the United Kingdom with 7.7%.

With the Arab countries, exports increased with Egypt 49.8%, Libya 37.6% and Morocco 34.4%, while they fell by 0.8% to Algeria.

For imports, trade in goods with the European Union (53.1% of total imports) increased by 17.9% to 31,856.3 MD.

Imports increased by 28.3% with Belgium, 20.8% with Italy and 13.3% with France.

Tunisia has even imported for the modest sum of 991 DT … from the Vatican, for the value of 2,740,501,925 dinars from Turkey (against 433,185,888 dinars of export) and for 2,572.195.206 billion DT from Algeria (against 1.112.714.316 billion DT of export).

Tunisia also imported from Africa the value of 4,267,003,963 TD, but exported for 4,300,172,709 TD.
