Tunisia gets lowest offers in 75,000 tonnes of feed barley

The lowest price offered in the international tender from Tunisia’s state grains agency on Friday to purchase up to 75,000 tons of animal feed barley was believed to be $211.92 a ton c&f for optional-origin supplies, European traders said.

The offer was made for 25,000 tons by trading house Cargill, they said. This was followed by offers of $213.85 a ton c&f and $214.47 a ton c&f for other shipment positions in the tender.

The barley was sought in three 25,000 ton consignments for shipment between March 1 and April 10 depending on origin.

No purchase has yet been made and results are expected later on Friday, they said. The agency does not always purchase the lowest price submitted if other conditions connected with the offer are seen as unattractive.

In its last reported barley tender on January 17, Tunisia bought 75,000 tons at the lowest price of $209.93 a ton c&f.
