Tunisia: good news of export from beginning of 2018

Tunisian exports increased by 49.7% to 3,025 MD between January 1 and January 20 of the current year, while imports only rose by 32.9% for a total of 2,080 MD, according to official figures.

This double increase has improved the coverage rate of the Tunisian trade balance by 7.8 points, bringing the coverage rate, imports by exports, to 68.8% against 61% for the same period in 2017.

In the same vein, exports of Tunisian agricultural products grew 67% over the same period (January 1 to 20, 2018), while phosphate exports bounced back by 22.6%, textiles and footwear increased 40.3% and exports of mechanical and electrical products grew by 26.7%.
