Tunisia: IMF projects GDP to grow 4.4% in 2024

Tunisia’s GDP, estimated at 1.5% in 2019, will reach 2.4% in 2020 and 4.4% in 2024, according to forecasts by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in its recent report “The World Economic Outlook 2019” published in the margins of its meetings in Washington from October 14-20, 2019.

According to this report, the inflation rate will follow a decreasing trend, dropping from 6.6% in 2019 to 5.4% in 2020 to settle at 4% in 2024.

Internationally, IMF said the global growth has been downgraded to 3%, its slowest pace since the global financial crisis. This is a serious decline compared to the rate of 3.8% recorded in 2017 during which the world economy witnessed a synchronized slowdown.
