Tunisia: in volume, imports increase by 1.9% at the end of June

Tunisia’s external trade recorded in volume (constant prices) a rise in export of around 8.6% and in import of 1.9% in the first half of 2018, said the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

In terms of prices, it went up by 16.6% for exports and 18.6% for imports.

At current prices, Tunisia’s external trade reached 20.354 billion dinars in exports in the first half of 2018 and 28.519 billion dinars in imports, thus registering an increase in the order of 26.6% and 20.8%, respectively, compared to the same period of 2017.

Excluding energy, prices increased at export by 15.9% and at import by 20.1%.

In the first half of the current year, energy prices recorded increases of around 28.0% for exports and 5.5% for imports.
