Tunisia: in volume terms imports almost stagnated at end April

Tunisia’s external trade recorded in volume terms (constant price) an increase of around 12.0% in export and in the order of 0.8% for import, reported the National Institute of Statistics (INS)

In terms of prices, they increased by 18.6% for exports and by 20.4% for imports.

Excluding energy, prices rose at export by 18.1% and at import by 22.5%. Indeed, during the first four months, energy prices recorded increases of around 28.8% for exports and 2.8% for imports.

In current values, Tunisia’s external trade reached 13.542 billion dinars in exports in the first four months of 2018 and 18.628 billion dinars in imports, thus posting a growth of 32.8% for exports and 21.3% for imports, compared with the same period of 2017.
