Tunisia: “Magasin Général” buys first online Supermarket Founa.com

The group “Magasin Général” has just bought 80% of the capital of the site Founa.com, the first online supermarket in Tunisia.

The amount of the transaction was not disclosed. This means that the startup has found a ground to carry on from.

Founded in 2013 by Karim Skik, Founa.com is an online trading site specializing in the sale of consumer goods and also a marketplace that operates on a simple principle: (several businesses, only 1 basket, 1 single delivery). All at prices in the average prices of supermarkets.

Generally, more than 11,000 products are referenced customers can order their items directly by visiting www.founa.com do their shopping and order online a very wide range of products by browsing the shelves.

Payment is made online with your national bank card or on delivery (in cash, by check or by card).

Founa also has its own fleet of delivery trucks and its own delivery team. Deliveries are currently in Greater Tunis, Nabeul, Hammamet, Sousse and Monastir.

The startup today has more than 5,000 customers and realized a turnover of 2.7 million dinars in 2017.
