Nearly 550 exhibitors are expected at the International Show of Agriculture, Agricultural Machinery & Fishing SIAMAP 2019 which is slated to be held on September 24-29, organizers said Thursday.
President of the Tunisian Union of Agriculture and Fisheries (French: UTAP) Abdelmajid Ezzar told a news conference in Tunis representatives of 36 countries will attend the SIAMAP 2019.
Qatar and Burkina Faso will be the guests of honor at this 14th edition that will be held under the slogan “Agriculture is the Solution.”
An international horse obstacle race will top the agenda of the show in addition to the national contest of smart agriculture.
Digital agriculture will likewise take the spotlight with a space extending over 400m2.
Director of the Agricultural Research Department in Qatar’s Ministry of Municipality and Environment Masoud Jarallah Al-Marri said the show offers the opportunity to familiarize with Tunisian products and increase Qatari imports.
Tunisia can be one of Qatar’s main suppliers of agricultural produce given incentives in connection to price and producers, he said.
