The sharp increase in banknotes and coins in circulation is continuing. Their volume reached a new historic record at the end of last week exceeding 11.22 billion dinars.

This growth in the level of banknotes and coins in circulation reflects a change in the behavior of economic agents towards the trust and reflects a net preference for the use of cash.

This is all the more confirmed by the comparative evolution since 2011 of the average annual growth rates of banknotes and coins in circulation at the end of the period or in terms of annual average and current GDP.
