Tunisia: Oil production drops to 38 thousand barrels a day in Q1

Tunisia’s crude oil production continues its drastic fall. The figures put forward by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) on economic growth in the first quarter of the current year confirm this trend.

In fact, Tunisian oil production has reached the highest point at 38,100 barrels per day on average during the first three months of 2019, against an average of 40,500 barrels per day during the same period last year.

In 2010, Tunisia produced an average of 110,000 barrels a day.

The country’s fiscal policy, repeated bottlenecks in production transportation channels due to sit-ins and other purely technical reasons mean that Tunisia’s oil production continues to decline.
