The amount of crude phosphate produced by Gafsa Phosphate Company (GPC) during the first quarter of the current year stands at 930 thousand tons, compared with 460 thousand tons during the same period in 2018, i.e. a growth of 102%, CEO of CPG Abdellatif Hmam told ShemFM.
He added that the company’s revenues reached 411 million dinars at the end of March, i.e. a strong growth over at the same time in 2018.
This growth is the result of the strong demand of the world market and the increase in fertilizer prices, especially that of Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) whose price per ton reached $ 411, according to him.
