Tunisia ranked 42nd in Global Entrepreneurship Index

Tunisia is far ahead of its neighbors in North Africa in the latest edition of the Global Entrepreneurship and Development Index (GDEI).

The country moved up 20 spots compared to last year to finish in 42nd place, earning it the 8th place in the MENA region.

With a score of 40.5, Tunisia came ahead of Morocco (70th), Algeria (73rd) and Egypt (81st). Far behind, Libya ranks 104th.

The Global Entrepreneurship and Development Index was created to provide a more comprehensive understanding of economic development by capturing the contextual nature of business formation, expansion and growth.

It is based on the analysis of a complete set of data from more than 120 countries that gather information on entrepreneurial attitudes, aspirations and activity.
