Tunisia: reported investment in services down 24.4%

“Reported investment in service activities reached the amount of 1,068.3 MD during the first nine months of 2018, against 1,413.3 MD in the first nine months of 2017, posting a

decrease of 24.4%”, said the latest figures from the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII).

Thus, the number of projects reported reached 8,358 in the first nine months of 2018 compared to 6,661 during the same period of 2017, up 25.5%.

These projects will create 32,456 jobs, compared with 28,858 jobs in the first nine months of 2017, i.e. an increase of 12.5%.

Compared to the same month last year, investments reported in the service activities recorded an increase of 4.7% (112.3 MD vs. 107.2 MD in September 2017).

The number of projects reported increased from 690 to 950 during the month of September 2018, up 37.7%.

The number of jobs to be created reached 3,905 against 3,042 in September 2017, i.e. a rise of 28.4%.
