The volume of exports of dates has reached nearly 5,411 tons for a value of 41.9 million dinars (MD) from October 20 to 31, 2018, said Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries Samir Taieb.
The value of date exports, whose harvest season began on October 20, 2018, grew almost
15.9 million dinars compared to the same period of the previous year, up 856 tons, the minister added at a press conference held Tuesday in Tunis.
Date exports amounted to 127 thousand tons during the 2017/2018 season compared with 107 thousand tons the previous season, the minister further indicated.
The revenue from the export of dates during the 2017-2018 season reached 748 MD against 556.8 MD, the previous season, posting a rise of 34%.
