The Fruit Inter-professional Grouping (GIF) has launched, in cooperation with the TunShip Maritime Company, a direct shipping line between the ports of Sfax and Tripoli (Libya) that will be operational as of April 26, the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries said in a press release Monday.
The launch of this 48-hour line is part of the preparations of the current export season of fresh and seasonal fruits to the Libyan market, in a context of closed land borders with Libya and Algeria due to the global spread of the COVID-19.
According to the same press release, the loading prices are set at $1.525 (276 millimes per kg) for normal containers (15-16 tonnes) and at $3.350 (607 millimes/kg) for refrigerated containers (15-16 tonnes).
