The Tunisian Insurance and Reinsurance Company (STAR) has just announced that its Board of Directors, which met on Monday, March 11, 2019, reviewed the activity of the company during the financial year 2018 and has finalized the financial statements for that year.
The latter show earned premiums up 6.8% or 359.6 million dinars against 336.8 million in 2017, while the net claims reinsurance expenses amounted to 278.8 million dinars, against 255.4 million a year earlier, up 9%.
The company last year posted an increase in net investment income by 18.8% to 66.8 million dinars, against 56.2 million in 2017.
To this end, the net result of the company has soared 151% to 17.7 million dinars, against 7 million in 2017.
The Board decided to propose the distribution of a dividend of 3.075 dinars per share and to call the shareholders of the company for a meeting of the Ordinary General Meeting on May 2, 2019.
