Tunisia: TASDIR + serving ambitions of female entrepreneurs internationally

The TASDIR + Fund, with the close collaboration of the National Chamber of Women Entrepreneurs, organised on Tuesday January 15, 2019 at the Export House a panel discussion with Tunisian female entrepreneurs.

More than fifty female business leaders took part in the event, which aimed to enlighten the TASDIR + Program on the export potential of Tunisian businesses run by women and to boost those which are ready to position oneself durably on the international markets by the export or the commercial establishment abroad.

Mr. Riadh BEZZARGA, Coordinator of the Fund congratulated Ms Leila Belkhiria Jaber on the number and quality of the presence at the panel discussion.

A large number of sectors of activity are represented in such numbers as agriculture, crafts, consulting, new technologies, alternative tourism, decoration & design, private higher education and textiles.

Following the presentation of the TASDIR + Fund and its mode of business support, the Tunisian female entrepreneurs were strongly motivated to join and to enter new international markets.

They were not only attracted by the Fund’s support methods, which put at their disposal a substantial financial budget and technical support from its experts, but also by the vanguard concept of the program, which is totally digitized and managed remotely (a first in Tunisia) as well as by the speed of its interventions and the transparency of its mode of operation.

The President of the Chamber has also confirmed the potential of a large number of women-led businesses and their ability to position themselves in international markets.

She also showed a keen interest in active collaboration between the Chamber she chairs and the TASDIR + Fund to support a group of companies in certain markets of strategic interest.

First steps were discussed, in particular those of the opening of a multi-company joint commercial platform in the United States and West Africa.

TASDIR + has several success stories of women-led businesses in its program. It plans to use this dynamic to increase the number of member companies that are managed by women.

It should be recalled that TASDIR + will organize a second panel discussion with women entrepreneurs of the southern region on Friday, February 08, 2019 in Sfax.

A third meeting for the region of Sousse and the Center will also be scheduled during the second half of February.

The TASDIR + Program is funded by the World Bank for a total amount of €17 million. Its final objective is to diversify markets for Tunisian companies.
