Tunisia: Tunisair sees 24.4 rise in passenger traffic in March

Tunisair’s passenger traffic in March 2018 posted an increase of 24.4% compared to the same period of 2017, the national carrier reported Tuesday.

The main indicators during the month of March 2018 compared to March 2017 are as follows, according to the company:

Traffic for all activities increased from 242,818 to 301,978 passengers.

-Regular traffic increased by 23.6%, from 232.501 to 287.468 passengers.

– Additional traffic increased by 78.9% from 2,532 to 4,529 passengers.

– Charter business registered 9,981 passengers thanks to the Umrah traffic.

Regarding the load factor, the latter is improving, from 75.3% in March 2017 to 77.2% in March 2018, up 1.9 points.

In terms of Tunisair’s main markets, according to the geographical breakdown and in terms of regular traffic, the European countries, which accumulate a 67.9% share of passenger traffic, grew 22.4%.

African countries with 16.2% of passenger traffic posted an improvement of 27.4%.

Middle East countries, whose share of passenger traffic is 14.9%, recorded an increase of 24.8%.

Lastly, North America (Montreal), whose share of passenger traffic is 1.0%, went up by 38.8%.
