Tunisia: UBCI improves its semiannual NBI by 17% to 124 million dinars

The Union Bancaire pour le Commerce et l’Industrie (UBCI) has published its activity indicators for the second quarter of the current year.

It emerges that outstanding loans to customers (net of provisions and reserved agios) recorded an increase of 14.8 million dinars to 2.8 billion dinars at the end of last June, posting a slight positive variation of 0.5% compared to June 30, 2018.

Customer deposits rose 6.2% compared to the first half of last year, with an outstanding 2.6 billion dinars.

Operating income reached 188.5 million dinars, up 11.5% compared to June 30, 2018, while operating expenses reached 64.3 million, i.e. an increase of 2.5% compared to the same period of 2018.

To this end, net banking income at the end of the second half of 2019 amounted to 124.2 million dinars, up 16.9% compared to the end of June 2018.

In addition, operating expenses grew 8.11% compared to the same period in 2018, with an increase in personnel costs by 9.4% and operating expenses by 6.9%.
