Tunisia: value of citrus exports reaches 25MD

Citrus fruit sales reached nearly 24.9 million dinars (MD) in the last six months of the 2018-19 season, compared with 24.1 million dinars in the previous season, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries.

The increase in revenue is due to the 9.9% rise in quantities exported, which reached 13,732 tons from October 1 to April 4, 2019 against 12,485 tons in the past year.

This trend is explained by the increase in exports to the French market, to more than 12.7 thousand tons for 20 MD, against 11.7 thousand tons and 19.9 MD, recorded the previous season.

The quantities exported to the Kuwaiti market also grew significantly, reaching 135 tons valued at 1339 MD, against 83.5 tons and 610 MD during the same period of the previous season.
